Kronos® Announces Grand Prize Winner of
"How Do You Kronos®?" Video Contest
Winning video depicts "Life before Kronos"
ORLANDO, Oct. 20, 2008 Kronos® Incorporated today announced the Grand Prize winner of its "How Do You Kronos®?" Video Contest. The winning entry, titled "Life before Kronos", was submitted by Aztec Shops LTD at San Diego State University in San Diego, CA. The video depicts life in a prehistoric world before the introduction of Kronos software made the management of time more civilized.
"We were impressed with the creativity of the submissions we received from our customers and end-users," said Jim Kizielewicz, chief marketing officer at Kronos. "Choosing a winner was very difficult, but in the end, the creativity and sheer originality of 'Life before Kronos' won us over. This contest gave us the opportunity to directly engage with our 30 million users and hear from them about how Kronos makes their working lives better and easier."
Christopher Compoginis, writer and director of the video, and graphic assistant at Aztec Shops stated, "We started by brainstorming about how easy Kronos has made the process of managing our employees and about how hard it was before, which naturally led us to the idea of creating a video that compared life before and after Kronos."
Compoginis said the video took two weeks to plan, write, film, edit, and produce. He tapped his colleagues in the graphics and marketing departments of Aztec Shops to act in the film. When asked about his favorite part of the filming process, he replied, "For me, it was the whole process: working with colleagues on something fun that allowed us to showcase our creativity and collaborate in a new way, and learning so much about the process of making a movie."
Submissions to the "How Do You Kronos®?" Video Contest were judged on their creativity, originality, and how well they described the experience of using Kronos software. Along with the Grand Prize winner, who received $10,000, there were second and third-place prize winners who won $5,000 and $1,000 respectively. "The Kronos Show", submitted by Carl Truesdell at The University of Central Florida, took second place, while "Kronsters, Inc.", submitted by Michael Ellerbeck at National Frozen Foods Corporation, took third place.
